Research projects title
As well as producing the Australian Dictionary of Biography and its companion websites, Obituaries Australia and People Australia, staff at the National Centre of Biography are currently involved in a number of research projects.
First Three Fleets and Their Families is examining how those, who survived the hazardous journey to New South Wales in 1787-1791, 'remade' their lives in the infant colony. We are also investigating how their children and grandchildren fared over the succeeding generations.

learn more »Great Expectations: Sydney College 1835-50 is a biographical study of the 843 boys who attended Sydney College, the forerunner of Sydney Grammar, during the years of its existence, 1835-1850. We are also investigating the boys partners and their parents.
