Australian Influencers in International Economic Thought Explored

On Tuesday 1 August, Professor Glenda Sluga delivered the 2023 Allan Martin lecture focusing on Australia's significant contributions to the international economic order during the 20th century. The lecture highlighted figures like PM Stanley Bruce and entrepreneur-diplomat Frank McDougall, shedding light on Australia's significant influence on international economic thinking and providing new perspectives on the history of globalisation. 

Professor Sluga, renowned for her research on international history and capitalism, holds the position of Joint Chair in International History and Capitalism at the European University Institute's Schuman Centre. She is also an ARC Kathleen Fitzpatrick Laureate Fellow and is a Professor of International History at the University of Sydney.
