Australian Honours awards - ANU History PhD candidate made Officer in the Order of Australia

Mr Gary Humphries, PhD candidate in ANU History was made an Officer in the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the Parliament of Australia, and to the Legislative Assembly.

Mr Humphries spent 13 years in the Assembly, serving as a Minister, Treasurer, Chief Minister and Opposition Leader before spending a decade representing the people of the ACT in the Senate.

Also, congratulations again to our Head of School and Gary’s PhD supervisor, Professor Frank Bongiorno, who was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to tertiary education in the field of history.

Congratulations to all recipients on their well deserved accomplishment!
