Tom is a PhD candidate at the ANU school of history and the National Centre for Biography. They are currently researching Australian journalists in early twentieth century China. Their honours thesis, A Pacifist’s Point: William Warder Cadbury, His Mission in Canton, and Public Health Initiatives 1909-1937 (2016) examined a Quaker medical missionary in Canton and his Chinese connections.
