The Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship is now open for applications for the year 2026. This esteemed scholarship provides $6000 to support fieldwork in Indigenous communities, aimed at advancing research in Australian Indigenous history.
Details:
- Application Period: 22 June - 17 July 2026 (closes at midnight - AEDT).
- Eligibility: Postgraduate students and early-career post-doctoral researchers (within 3 years of completion). Applicants are encouraged to indicate if they identify or are connected to the Gurindji community to recognise their contribution and support to Minoru Hokari during his research
- Funding: $6000 for fieldwork in an Indigenous community
This scholarship represents a significant opportunity for scholars dedicated to the study of Australian Indigenous history. We encourage eligible candidates to apply and contribute to the preservation and understanding of Indigenous heritage.
Applications for Indigenous Languages may also be considered with an additional Scholarship currently being progressed. The value of this Scholarship is $4000; the application process and deadline are the same as the Minoru Hokari Scholarship.
