In the ANU Gender Institute's latest round of funding, two of the School's staff received awards.
Dr. Karo Moret-Miranda received a grant for her 'research-led project that aim[s] to foster gender equity at ANU'. She will use the funding to re-examine Hildegard Von Bingen's Scivias manuscript through critical race and gender theory, and use it to map and analyze the meanings associated with the racialized-feminine.
Head of School, Professor Carolyn Strange, was one of two recipients of the Gender Institute's new two-year working group grants. Her group of scholars will address the problem of coercive control through their expertise in law, criminology, sociology, history, literature, public policy, anthropology, art, political science, Indigenous studies, and music. Dr. Laurie Bamblett is one of the fifteen scholars in the group.
