PhD Student wins Environmental History Essay Prize

Mr Christian O'Brien, a PhD Student in the School of History has won this year's National Museum of Australia Student Essay Prize for his essay on 'A brief history of the monsoon'.
The Australian Academy of Science and National Museum of Australia (NMA) join together to award the annual NMA Student Essay Prize for the History of Australian Science or Australian Environmental History.
Awarded each year for original unpublished research the School of History has been very successful in the past two years with two of our students last year receiving prizes for their essays.
Winners were chosen by the Academy's National Committee for History and Philosophy of Science.
