ANU School of History ranked 12th in the world
Thursday 7 July 2011

The School of History, College of Arts and Social Sciences ANU has been ranked twelfth in the world in the 2011 QS World University Rankings for History.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has ranked the top universities in the world since 2004, proving a valuable tool for students and parents to critically assess prospective institutions. 2011 was the first year QS ranked the Arts and Humanities disciplines (English, History, Philosophy, Languages and Literature) having previously only covered areas such as Engineering, the Sciences and technology to name a few.

In addition to the ANU School of History placing twelfth on the list, the ANU Arts and Humanities discipline received a strong mention on the QS website.

"ANU shows that it is Australia’s premier institution within the Arts and Humanities, and in several subjects competes on a par with the finest universities in the world. ANU makes the top ten in four of the six disciplines, ranking sixth for Philosophy, Modern Languages and Geography."
