Book Launch – ‘A New Rival State? Australia in Tsarist Diplomatic Communications’

The Head of ANU School of History, Professor Frank Bongiorno AM, will be heading the launch of the new book entitled ‘A New Rival State? Australia in Tsarist Diplomatic Communications’, edited by Alexander Massov, Marina Pollard and Kevin Windle.

The book is a collection of dispatches written from the Russians consulate in Melbourne from 1857-1917. These documents offer a unique insight into Russian perspectives of Colonial Australia and its development.

Event will take place on Wednesday 20 February 2019, 5pm at the ANU Centre for European Studies, Building 67C, 1 Liversidge Street.
